Winterizing you system is quick and easy but important to protect your pump and components.
Step 1. Disconnect both tubes from the pump and bring it inside for the winter
Step 2. Remove the last nozzle in your system. Insert the " drain fitting " that came with your system into the the fitting on the black tube that you just disconnected from the pump. You will see the water draining from the lines. If you do not have your drain fitting you can order one here https://44kq3hdi9meskcpo-61113958579.shopifypreview.com/collections/misting-parts/products/drain-fitting or look under Accessories/Fittings/Drain Fitting.
Step 3. Drain the water from the filter ( clear bulb type ) by opening the valve on the bottom. Insert the drain fitting into the Quick disconnect coming from the output of the filter to get any remaining water from the blue tube.
Step 3 B. If you have the 10" blue cannister filters, unscrew the cannister(s) and bring them in if freezing is a possibility.
Step 4. If you have the Blue cannister filters, check the phosphate level and condition of the sediment filter. Order new filters as necessary
That's it!
Spring start up:
Step 1. Clean or replace filters as necessary
Step 2. Connect both tubes to your pump ( blue input on the right side and black high pressure on the left ). With the last nozzle removed, turn on the water ( about 1/3 of the way ). Let water run freely for 3-4 minutes to flush the lines and remove the air.
Step 3. Turn off the water and screw in the last nozzle. Now open the water spigot 1/3 of the way and you are ready to go.
Note: If you see excessive shaking of the black tube, then there is still air in the pump. Disconnect the black tube and let water run through the pump. Reconnect and start the pump
